Historical Note
In several places, the Association has rebuilt a cottage in an abandoned settlement where a number of families once lived. This bothy on the Ardnish peninsula is a good example. At one time, between 80 and 120 people are thought to have lived in the small crofting townships that fringed Ardnish- Sloch, Mullochbuie, Glasnacardoch, Laggan and Peanmeanach. The cottage was occupied by a family named McQueen until shortly after the end of the Second World War.
