“Excellent bothy, great for reaching 2 remote Munros. I was alone there over 2 days. Totally silent at night: no sound of any rodents etc. Peaceful and friendly! I much appreciated the efforts of the MO. I removed a bag of rubbish left by previous occupant and disposed of it in Strathcarron, and swept the place out. Visitor’s book makes very interesting reading and a useful log”.

“Just to say Bearnais saved my life… “swam” the burn in spate… Everything soaked apart from sleeping bag… just to get out of the storm and wind…whew! Too windy to pitch tent at Loch Monar… Thanks”

The Bearnais Story by Bernard & Betty Heath gives a good account of how major MBA projects were carried out in the mid 1970s.
