Abyssinia, a new MBA maintained bothy

Abyssinia, a new MBA maintained bothy

Thanks to the efforts of 50 volunteers over a 3 week period, the building known as Abyssinia in Glen Kinglas in Argyll has been converted into a bothy and is now available for use. We are extremely grateful to Strone estate for allowing us to renovate and maintain this building and for the assistance that they gave us both before and during the work party.  Visitors are asked not to take vehicles onto the estate road and during the stalking season to comply with advice which will be posted both at the road end and in the bothy.

While the bothy is open, there are a few jobs left to do including unblocking the chimney! It is hoped that these will be tackled during the summer and meantime you are advised not to use the fire.
